Fire safety training

As An Employer, you are responsible for your employees safety at work. Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997.

At Fire Training Services customer safety is our priority, we can help you comply with safety regulations by offering
FIRE SAFETY TRAINING. We can do this in three different ways:

FIRE AWARENESS VIDEO

The video is presented by GMTVs’ Penny Smith and was filmed on location at the Fire Training Service College at Moreton on Marsh, Gloucester as well as other locations.The Fire Service College is the national training college for the UK’s Fire Brigades. The facilities at the college have meant that the video has captured as many different scenarios of fires and their causes, that you would be unfortunate enough to encounter, and so gives viewers a better understanding of fire, its dangers and how to deal with them.

Inter­Active Fire awareness CD­Rom

The CD-rom contains the same footage as the video, but has the extra benefit of being fully interactive. It contains all the current Health & Safety regulations, Fire Precautions Act & signage laws & Regulations in PDF format, which you can download or scroll through in your own time. It also contains an inter-active test which your staff can take part in to show that they have understood the information provided.

On Site Training

This will include the Video or CD-rom, and also a hands on demonstration for your staff on the correct way to operate fire extinguishers and information on how and when to use them. This will also include a short test and each successful candidate will receive a certificate to confirm that they have been on the course and are competent in the correct use of fire extinguishers.

By the end of the course delegates should: Know their safety duties under the law Be able to recognise the importance of effective evacuation Know how to prevent fire and limit fire spread Be able to identify the requirements of an effective fire action plan Be able to select and use a range of portable fire extinguishers Each candidate will receive a certificate to confirm that they have completed the course and are competent in the correct use of fire extinguishers. All staff will benefit from the training, particularly new employees and managers.
